Ah we’ll see how I fare.  I have some wild strategies up my sleeve, though. I plan to hit hard and fast.

froeverfrolik- asked: okay i think I'm done haha , it was nice battling, you're a good rival. You're parties had alot of moves i didn't expect, I thought i would actually win since most of your Pokemon are weak to fighting moves, obviously i thought wrong. Especially awesome since you're the first person I've ever battled. Thanks for the night battle thing we did, it was fun Maybe we'll battle again once i get my black and white team fully trained

Totally, you shocked me a few times.  I love Slowking’s in competitive play.  I’m down for more whenever!

I love the first shot. You can really see the wheel as a complete shape surrounding him. This is really what I love about doing these HD screenshots and posting them. I love gifs and all, but this really lets you capture unique and impressive moments.

Video 15 May 1 note

I know I don’t post often but this video gave me pause, for a few reasons.  I’ll begin by saying that I have been a fan of Nick Bertke, or Pogo as he’s more likely known, since his first Youtube upload back around 2007.  I think his music expresses emotions that oftentimes cannot be expressed.  He has the uncanny ability to take inspiration from film, television, and the world, and perfectly convey the heart of it.  His music has saved me on more than one occasion.  He is an inspiration because he’s only a few years older than myself.  It stands as a testament to music and the creativity that has seemed fleeting as of late.

But also as of late, there has been a threat to creativity.  As he outlines in the video, the encroaching hold of industry is a direct danger to creativity.  Freedom of expression should be a universal right, not a convenience when money is involved.  I’m a stark supporter of Remix Culture, not because it sounds pretty or tickles that strange sense of nostalgia that comes from the familiar, but because it a bastion of freedom.  The ability to take one or two works and create one cohesive piece is an amazing skill that must be seen and appreciated.  Instead, money has to be a factor.  The concept that ideas can be owned is, as Nick perfectly puts it, ball-sackery.  Copyright laws are the oppression of expression, if I may steal another great phrase.  Virtually nothing is original anymore.  To say that one person has stolen the idea of whatever from another person is absolute bullshit.  Every idea that a person has was inspired by something else, and so on.  Every person is a collection of ideas and inspirations; we are haphazard conglomerates of bits and pieces from everything that preceded us.  Ideas can’t be owned, they can only be shared.  Naturally, credit where credit is due must be observed, and I’m not proposing a society where nothing can be owned.  I’m proposing that a person’s life should not be ruined by gathering inspiration from outside sources and synthesizing them into art.  I’m proposing that creative value be respected over arbitrary monetary values.  I’m proposing that the world recognizes that it’s not about the personal gain, but the collective release.  There’s no reason to get your panties in a bunch, Capitalism.

I may be deliriously tired, and I’ll probably regret writing this tomorrow, but I was inspired to say something.  Inspired by the words and ideas of another to create something of my own.  And therein lies the backbone of creativity and remix culture.

(In self-centered news, Nick Bertke started following me on twitter!  That was one of the reasons I wanted to sing praise of an artist that deserves more recognition.)

WHY ARE THERE NOT MORE NOTES FOR THIS!

IMAGINE IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS ACTUALLY DETERMINED WHETHER THE SERIES IS CONTINUED BEYOND BOOK TWO OR NOT!?!

(And in all likelihood they would notice something like this now that Korra Nation exists and is on tumblr and they are frankly perspicacious when it comes to the inner workings of our fandom now…)

Fresh off the release of his impressive Darkling EP earlier this month, oddlogic can now claim yet another masterful production to his name— this time in the form of a beautiful Explosions in the Sky remix. Alex Gohorel is not only the artist behind oddlogic, but also the labelhead…

Couldn’t agree more. Get some headphones and soothe your ears folks.
